About the app
A Woven Promise is a library of interactive biblical fiction —
choose-your-own-path stories set in the moments Scripture leaves quiet. At key points you
decide what happens next, and your choices carry the story toward one of two endings. Every
chapter can be read or listened to with built-in narration.
Getting started
Creating an account. An account is required so your reading progress,
saved library, and subscription follow you between devices. You can sign up with an email
address and password, with Sign in with Apple (iPhone and iPad), or with
Sign in with Google (Android now, iPhone and iPad in a coming update).
Free books. Some titles are free to read in full, start to finish, with no
subscription.
Making choices. When a chapter ends on a decision, tap the option you want.
Your path is remembered, and the Overview screen shows the journey you have taken.
Signing in — use the same method each time
If you created your account with Google, sign in with Google. If you created it with Apple, sign
in with Apple. If you used an email address and password, use those. Your library, reading
progress, and subscription live with the account you first created.
Email and password, then Google or Apple later. If the address is the same
one you signed up with, it is recognised as the same account and nothing is lost.
If you used Apple's “Hide My Email”. Apple gives the app a
private forwarding address instead of your real one, so signing in later with Google —
even with the email you think of as yours — looks like a different person, and you would
land in an empty library. Sign back in with Apple and everything is there.
Empty library after signing in? You have almost certainly signed in by a
different method than the one you signed up with. Sign out, sign back in the original way, and
nothing will have been lost. If you are stuck, email us — we can look it up.
Reading and listening
Narration. Every chapter has recorded audio. Tap the play control at the
top of a chapter. Playback advances to the next chapter automatically.
Read-along highlight. The text follows the narration. You can turn this off
in Profile → Audio.
Text size and theme. Cream, Sepia, and Dark themes, and four text sizes, are
in Profile.
Offline reading. Download a book from its Overview screen to read and listen
without a connection. Downloads are stored on your device only.
Subscriptions
What it includes. A subscription unlocks every book in the library, both
endings and all branching paths, and narrated audio for every chapter.
Plans. Monthly or annual. The current price for your region is always shown
on the subscription screen before you buy.
Restoring a purchase. New device, or reinstalled the app? Tap
Restore Purchases on the subscription screen or in Profile.
Cancelling. Subscriptions are billed by the app store you bought from, not
by us, so cancel them there. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not remove access for
the period you have already paid for.
iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Android: Google Play app → your profile picture → Payments and
subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store
first, using the steps above.
Which account is charged. Your subscription follows your
A Woven Promise account, not the Apple ID or Google account that paid. You can pay
with one and read signed in under a different email — that is normal and works.
Your account
Forgot your password? Use the reset link on the sign-in screen, or email us.
Deleting your account. Open Profile → Delete Account. This
permanently deletes your account, reading progress, saved library, and any story ideas you
submitted. It cannot be undone, and it does not cancel an active subscription —
cancel that separately in the App Store or Google Play, using the steps under
Subscriptions above.
Submitting a story idea
Subscribers can send us a story idea from inside the app. Submissions are private — they are not
shown to other readers. There is no payment for a submission, but if your idea becomes a book you
can be credited by name.
Are these stories Scripture?
No. They are works of imaginative fiction built around biblical characters, and they never pretend
otherwise. Each book opens with a foreword setting out what Scripture records and what the story
imagines. The stories are written with the assistance of artificial intelligence under human
direction and editing, which is disclosed in the front matter of every book.
Read it as a story. Read your Bible for truth.
Something not working?
Email hmjhead@yahoo.com and tell us your device, whether
you are on iPhone or Android, and what happened. If it involves a specific book or chapter, name
it — that makes it much faster to fix.
